• Parking: Finding a parking spot in the cities is a mission impossible most days. You will spend a good chunk of your time circling blocks looking for somewhere to park – it's part of the experience, I guess. This contributes to traffic congestion and overall parking stress.

• Public transport: Whilst improving, it’s not exactly reliable or comprehensive. This means many people rely on private vehicles, adding to the congestion on already overcrowded roads.

So, what can you do to survive the Bosnian traffic? Here are a few tips from someone who's been through the ringer:

• Patience, patience, patience: This is key. Seriously. If you’re prone to road rage, leave it at home. You'll need all your reserves of inner peace.

• Plan extra time: Always add extra time to your travel plans. Traffic can be unpredictable, and delays are almost guaranteed.

• Be aware of your surroundings: Pay close attention to other drivers, pedestrians, and unexpected obstacles. Defensive driving is vital.

• Learn basic Bosnian phrases: Knowing a few basic phrases can be helpful if you need to ask for directions or get assistance.

• Use navigation apps: A good navigation app is essential, especially outside of the main cities. It can help you avoid construction zones and find alternative routes.

Honestly, driving in Bosnia can be stressful, but it’s also…interesting? It's part of the local charm, I guess. You just gotta roll with the punches, breathe deep, and remember that everyone’s in the same boat (metaphorically speaking, of course). Once you accept the chaos, it somehow becomes less stressful.
